World’s longest legs meet the shortest

In an event organized by the Guinness Book of Records, held on September 15, in Trafalgar Square, Svetlana Pankratova, the woman with the longest legs in the world (132 cm) met 20-years-old He Pingping, the shortest man on the planet. He is 2’5″ and his parents say he was the size of a human palm when he was born, although they and his brothers and sisters are all normal. Svetlana is 6’7″ but she is not the tallest woman in the world.

What’s wrong with these photos?

I mean shouldn’t things be the other way around? And if that had been a bull I would have understood…sort of, but that’s a freaking cow mounting a poor old woman. And look at that other “cow” just sitting there enjoying the show instead and rushing to her fellow human’s aid. So much for poor innocent cows huh?

Crazy Self-Sustainable Chair

Created by Korean artist JooYoun Paek, the self-sustainable chair is a polyethylene-made dress, connected to a pair of special pair of shoes that pump air into the dress, with every step you take. After a short walk, the dress inflates in the back forming a nice “little” chair that makes it possible for you to stop, sit on it and rest for a bit. Depending on the wearer’s weight, the dress deflates allowing him to carry on with his walk.

The self-sustainable dress is an artistic concept that “motivates people to switch between walking and sitting  as a loop behavior on the street”. One couldn’t actually use the self-sustainable chair on a day-to-day basis, it makes you look like you just arrived from another planet.

Here’s a test-drive of the self-sustainable chair in New York:

Protect 486 – The Motorcycle Armour

All you motorcycle owners out there know how hard it is to protect your vehicle against thieves and the dust of big cities. Well Protect 486 may be the solution you were searching for. Designed by Marc Graells Ballve, this revolutionary motorcycle security device was inspired by natural defense mechanisms of animals like the armadillo.

The Protect 486 motorcycle security system raps around your prized two-wheel vehicle and, because of its burglar alarm, it makes it almost impossible for thieves to steal it. Protect 486 is just a prototype for the time beein, but it might go into production if the reactions are favorable.

Human Smiley-Face for Google Earth

The people of Russian city Chelyabinsk have found a unique way to make their beloved city known to the entire world by using Google Earth.

In a carefully planed event, the citizens of  Chelyabinsk calculated when Google’s satellite, “Quick Bird”, passes directly over the city and formed a yellow smiley face that could be noticed from out of space. The result of their organized effort will be seen the next time Google Earth updates, but whether they get the exposure they were looking for or not, the people behind the Smiley-Face of Chelyabinsk have our congratulations for the effort.

Q1 Tower – World’s Tallest Residential Building

Set in Surfer’s Paradise, Queensland, the Q1 Tower is the tallest residential building in Australia and the world.

Q1 Tower has a roof height of 275 meters that only make it the second tallest residential building in Australia, after Eureka Tower, in Melbourne. But Q1 also has a long metal spire set up on the roof, which makes the total height of the building go up to 322.5 meters.

The Q1 Tower was inspired by the Sydney 2000 Olympic Torch and the Sidney Operahouse and it was named in honor of Australia’s 1920s Olympic sculling team. Q1 also means Queensland Number One and it will not be holding the title of world’s tallest residential building for much longer, a taller D1 Tower is being built in Dubai and it is scheduled for completion in 2009

Original 1989 Batmobile on sale on eBay

Unfortunately “Biding has ended for this item” so you no longer have the opportunity to ride in an original Batmobile. Well…I don’t know if original is the right word to describe it. Warner Bros. built 5 Batmobiles for their 1989 motion picture and this is the last of them, but it wasn’t actually used in the movie. So I guess it’s kind of an original replica.

The starting bid was set at $500,000 but the highest bid for the 1989 Batmobile was only $110,000. The 20 feet long, 8 feet  wide original Batmobile replica has a Chevrolet 350 engine and no doors. The buyer would have to climb on top of the car where the canopy opens just like in the movie.

Because the 1989 Batmobile originally belonged to Warner Bros., the owner would have to sign a special contract with the company. The details of this contract were not revealed on the eBay bidding-page

LEGO Chevrolet Camaro

So far we’ve seen so pretty crazy things built out of LEGO pieces, like the LEGO Sushi, LEGO Beijing Olympics and even the world’s tallest LEGO Tower, but a real-size car? Well, yes, a LEGO master that goes by the internet name of Crowkillers managed to build a 2009 Chevrolet Camaro using only advanced LEGO Technic pieces. Although it’s impossible to see it in the photos, the LEGO Technic pieces allow this Chevy Camaro to move around without the use of a hand.

Several thousand pieces went into this LEGO masterpiece and probably hundreds of hardwork, but Crowkillers must be really proud of himself, the LEGO Chevrolet Camaro is a thing of beauty

Emergency Zombie Defence Station

I bet Alice from Resident Evil had one of these when she got cornered by a pack of brainless undead.

The Emergency Zombie Defense Station was created by a horror movie fan after seeing a similar one on the internet. He thought he could do an even better job so he started working on it. And the result of his work is most impressive, The Zombie Defense Station comes complete with a standard-size shotgun and ammo, a machete for when you run out of shotgun shells and even a transparent riot-shield. Well actually that’s the lid of the Defense Station package, it comes off and can be used as a shield. The creator says he loved the transparent riot-shields in 28 Days Later so he decided to make one of his own.

So there you have it, the next time you run into a pack of zombies, just make sure you have the Emergency Zombie Defense Station on you, it’s all you’ll ever need. I actually feel sorry for the poor undead…

Cadillac Ranch

What’s the weirdest thing you could possibly see in the desert? Sure, an iceberg or something, but you have to admit that ten half buried Cadillacs come pretty close. And when they’re all covered in graffiti, it just makes things even weirder.

The Cadillac Ranch was created in 1974, in Amarillo, Texas by members of an art group called Ant Farm. It’s made up by 10 old Cadillac models dating from 1949 to 1963 and it means to symbolize a number of evolutions of the car line.  All the ten Cadillacs are tilted towards the west, at an angle corresponding to that of the Pyramids at Gyza.

The Cadillac Ranch can be seen when driving on Highway 66

Impale Your Enemies! Avenging Unicorn and Narwhal

All I can say about these toys is: Too bad you can only find them in America! I’m sure people all over the world would jump at the opportunity to impale a mime, a hippie or a corporate suit without having to pay the consequences. Because that’s what these original toys allow you to do. The Avenging Unicorn and The Avenging Narwhal toys come with interchangeable horns that keep the fun going for hours. With the Narwhal you get the chance to impale a seal, a Koala bear and a penguin, supposedly ancient enemies of the Narwhal (don’t blame me, it says so on the box).

They’ve been spotted in stores across America and I just wish I could get my hands on at least one of them, I have a friend who would love something like ths for his birthday.

Not the kind of gift you’d want to buy for your kids though.

Russian-made Wooden Computer

This incredible piece of technology-art was custom built by a Russian craftsman for an anonymous client. This wooden computer not only looks more like a piece of art that belongs in a gallery, it’s a perfectly functional desktop computer. Tests showed that after 24 hours of extreme gaming there was no trouble with overheating.

The Vampire-Slaying Kit

This cool-looking vampire-slaying kit was on sale on eBay back in 2006 and it was apparently a genuine 19th Century kit made in Transylvania.

The vampire-slaying kit contained all the items a real vampire slayer would need to battle the Nosferatu, including  bottles of holy water, a seringe for injecting liquid garlic, a 13.1 inch beautifully encrusted knife, an old bible, several wooden spikes and a hammer to help impale the vampire’s heart, and a beautifully crafted cross.

All the items were presented in a vintage metal box that immediately caught the eye of several buyers and made the vampire-slaying kit sell as fast as you can say “I waaaant to suuuuck your bloood!”

The Spoon Cadillac

Uri Geller, one of the world’s most famous spoon-benders, also created one of the most unusual cars you’ve ever seen. Covered with over 5,000bent pieces of silverware, Geller’s Spoon Cadillac is a tribute to his extraordinary talent. 1000 spoons and forks were donated by children from Israel, India, Great Britain and others are collection items, touched or used by famous personalities.

If he were to drive his Spoon Cadillac, instead of keeping it on display at the Beaulieu National Museum, in England, Uri Geller would have some serious trouble getting it washed and waxed. Some of the pieces on this custom-built 1974 Cadillac were bent by Uri Geller himself, using his incredible brain-power, while the others were bent artificially by him and his friend Avi Pines, a famous Israeli sculptor.

Chinese Make Cheap Dodge Tomahawk Replicas

Back in 2003 Dodge first presented its monster on four wheels, the Dodge Tomahawk motorcycle (I know I said four wheels, but I can’t call it a car now can I?). This baby had an 8.3 V10 Viper engine that produced unimaginable power. Only 10 Dodge Tomahawks were ever built and they were sold with 550,000 dollars.

But if you thought you had no chance in hell to get your hands on one of these babies, think again. The Chinese have created an exact replica of the Dodge Tomahawk, called KMD K-007 Tron Bike MC-06. It’s got a weak 150 cc engine, but it looks just like the Tomahawk and costs only $1398.
