Spider-Man Inspired Spider-Phone

After the Buddha-phone, the Chinese deliver another cool gadget, the Spider-phone.

Available in red and black, the TV98+ Spider-phone features a 2 megapixels camera, rotating display, dual SIM slots and a microSD slot. It supports/800/900/1800/1900 networks and is priced at around $152. The phone is covered with spider-webs and features the star of the latest Spider-man movies, Tobey Maguire, on the box.

Unfortunately, you won’t find the Spider-phone in stores outside of China and Hong-Kong anytime soon.

GM and Segway Present P.U.M.A.

Personal Urban Mobility and Accessibility Project, or P.U.M.A., is a revolutionary vehicle designed by GM and Segway.

The self-balancing P.U.M.A.  reaches a top-speed of 35 mph and has a lithium batery that makes it run for 35 miles, on a single charge. It also features a vehicle to vehicle (V2V) system said that will prevent many accidents from happening. Like the Segway, P.U.M.A. will basically drive itself, allowing the driver and passenger to enjoy the experience more.

It’s not exactly certain whether P.U.M.A. will ever go into production, but don’t expect to see it on the streets anytime before 2012. I have to admit, coming from GM, this is an impressive vehicle.

Kush -The Breast Support Cushion

I know what you’re thinking, and yes, this is another one of those “what will they think of next?” posts.

Kush is an extremely important accessory if you’re one of those women that would do anything to prevent gravity from affecting their breasts. Apparently Kush will support women’s breasts all through the night and prevent them from developing cleavage wrinkles

It works best for women who sleep on their sides, that have a C-cup or larger and that might have had breasts implants in the past. Kush breast support cushions cost between $55-60 depending on their size. Not the most brilliant thing I’ve ever seen, but it’s definitely one of the most bizarre.

Cool Custom-made Cupcakes

I never knew the words cool and cupcake could be used in the same sentence, but now I know it’s possible.

I found these photos while surfing the web, the other day, but, fortunately, I managed to find the original source, Hello Naomi. It’s an Australian bakery that makes custom cupcakes for special events. Their products look amazing and, according to their website, they taste just as good.

I visited this custom cupcakes heaven, and the prices are a bit spicy, but if you’re looking to find a special gift, you can’t go wrong with cupcakes. They have an impressive collection of designs to choose from, or you can just tell them what you want.

Too bad I don’t live in Australia…

The Glass Beach

Nothing more than a garbage dump between 1950 and 1967, California’s Glass Beach is now quite the tourist attraction.

The Glass Beach used to be full of garbage, glass, broken china, rusted junk, all reduced by an ocasional fire or two. Fortunately the people realized the error of their ways and decided to clean up the beach and let nature turn it into the beauty it is today.

The elements did their job, transforming the glass shards into shiny, colorful jewels that you could spend hours collecting. The state bought this beautiful piece of the world in 2003, and now the Glass Beach is a part of MacKerricher State Park.

World’s Dirtiest Job

Mike Rowe should give this dirty job a try.

I watch Dirty Jobs as often as I can, but I don’t think I’ve seen anything worse than what this poor guy has to do. At least no without some protective gear. I’m sure the smells of extreme poverty and starvation are a lot worse than the smell of sewers, but i still can’t figure out how he can clean that place up without puking…

These are the photos that make us appreciate our jobs, no matter how lousy we think they are. You think you got it bad, take a look at this guy:

Ugliest Car Ever?

We’ve had a lot of home-made vehicles featured on OddityCentral, but none as ugly as this one.

Not taking sides or anything, but I’m pretty sure my 70-something grandmother could have done a better job than these guys. I mean, why would you build something like that? You need a cheap ride, get a used piece of junk, don’t waste your time building the ugliest car ever.

I haven’t seen nearly enough cars to dub this the ugliest car in the world, but I’m sure it has a fair chance.

The School Bus-Truck

Is it a school bus or a school truck? Actually it’s both.

The financial crysis is taking its toil on the educational system as well. Schools can’t even afford school busses anymore, so they improvise. The school bus-truck isn’t the ugliest vehicle I have ever seen and I’m sure it gets the job done, but it is damn funny looking.

Arabian Sandstorm

Saudi Arabia was paralyzed by a sandstorm this week. It might look in these photos but it’s a real nuisance if you’re in the middle of it.

30 cars were damaged in the city of Taif and over 35 people were injured. A similar sandstorm occurred in Iraq  around this time in 2008.

Real USB Finger

There are a lot of wacky USB drives out there these days, but this USB finger is definitely one of the oddest.

Jerry Jalava lost one of his fingers in a biking accident. Nothing out of the ordinary so far, I personally have a friend that lost a finger while tampering with his bike, but the way hedealed with his problem is definitely out of the ordinary. Instead of getting a simple fake finger, Jerry decided to get a much more useful USB finger. He embedded a 2gb USB drive in his new silicon finger.

I would have gone with a larger storage device but I guess 2gb is better than the no gb.

Kandovan – The Stone Village

Kandovan (Candovan) is a tourist village located near the city of Tabriz, in Iran. Its name is the plural of “kando”whiche means bees nest.

Legend says the first inhabitants of Kandovan moved here to escape from the invading mongols, They dug hideouts in the volcanic rock and ultimately ended up transforming them into permanent houses. It is now one of Iran‘s most popular tourist destinations and the rock-houses rival the famous Cappadocia Hotel.

The main occupations of Kandovan‘s inhabitants are agriculture and animal raising.

Bad-ass Bridal Carriage

This has got to be the perfect alternative to the fairytale horse-pulled bridal carriage.

A while ago we posted some photos of the motorcycle hearse, a bikers’ favorite last ride. Now it’s time for something a little less morbid, the motorcycle bridal carriage.

Dan Dismile, a man passionate about motorcycles, cars and weddings decided to mix them all together and create the ultimate wedding ride. After a year of hard work he came up with a “Cinderella meets Harley“coach that appeals to bikers and people looking for something out of the ordinary.

Mini Moscow

If you don’t have the time to visit all of Moscow’s atractions you can see them all in miniature.

Following France’s miniature model, Russians have created a miniature model of their beautiful capital, ever since 1986. During an annual workshop, every structure in the model is wiped of dust and workers replace old buildings with the newly built, so the model is always up-to-date.

One Dangerous Poney Ride

Note to self: Never take part in a poney race on thin ice. It’s just not the smartest thing to do.

The worst aspect of this predicament is those poneys got a very cold bath they certainly didn’t need on such a cold day. I’m sure it was a pretty funny experience for their human owners, since no one was harmed, but I’d say this qualifies as animal cruelty.

Keep REALLY Still!

One thing I’d definitely wouldn’t do, whatever anyone would pay me. But if this Chinese chick agreed to do it, at least I hope it’s worth it.
