An artistically designed pond that looks like it could be zipped up at any time.

Designed by renowned Taiwanese sculptor Ju Chun, the Zipper Pond has become one of the most popular attractions at the Juming Museum, outside Taipei.  It does look absolutely amazing…I mean I’ve seen some beautiful ponds in my time, but a zipper pond? That’s special.

Get ready to send your cooker to the junkyard, you’re not gonna need it once you learn how to make lasagna using your dishwasher.

It’s really no big deal, just prepare your lasagna the way you normally do, cut into smaller pieces and place each of them on extra-thick aluminum foils. Wrap every piece just like you would a child’s lunch in a paper bag. Then take the lasagna pouches and place them on the bottom rack of the dishwasher. Set the machine to normal cycle and select “heated dry” and “sanitize”, for maximum heat.

Now all you have to do is wait for the dishwasher to finish and you’ll be able to enjoy a well-done lasagna, everyone’s favorite Italian dish. The best thing about this wacky way of cooking is you can wash the dirty dishes at the same time, as long as you make sure the lasagna is sealed shut.

I’m not a big fan of canned foods, not since the whole chicken in a can post, but if you like them, you’re gonna love this.

It turns out they put everything in a can these days, even cheeseburgers. Honk, a brave German dude from the Something Awful forums, decided to try this weird dish and document his experience.

Apparently, all you have to do is boil the damn thing, open the can and stuff your face. Honk tried the cheeseburger in a can and said it had a very bland taste and left him with a bitter aftertaste. It doesn’t look as bad as I imagined a canned cheeseburger would look like, but the bottom bun does look a bit soggy.

Honk says he would eat one of these things again and admits he would appreciate canned cheeseburgers more if he was serving them on top of a mountain. Let’s face it, any kind of cheeseburger is better than dry bread or power bars, even a disgusting burger.

Spanish people really have a thing for bulls, don’t they. Bullfighting, the festival of Pamplona, they’re all centered around the bull.

During the Bous a la Mar Festival, in Denia, near the city of Alicante, people get chased by bulls through the streets and into the Mediterranean Sea. The brave participants plunge into the waters just before the bulls are about to catch them. The animals often fall into the sea as well, where they are taunted some more. Eventually, the bulls are caught with a lasso and towed back to shore by a boat.

What do you do when your kids leave you with entire boxes of old toys they don’t like anymore? Well, you can donate them, throw them away or, do something creative with them.

Robert Bradford, a part-time psychotherapist from Cornwall, UK, opted for the third option when his two kids left him with a bunch of discarded toys. Luckily, one day, while he was staring at them, he came up with the wonderful idea of using them to create artistic sculptures.

His first artwork was an Alsatian dog that he doesn’t much like these days. But this was the experiment that started his career as an artist. That was four years ago. Since then, Robert Bradford has used thousands of toys to make truly incredible toy sculptures, like the soldier and angel you see in the photos below.

The artist uses up to 3,000 used toys for each of his toy sculptures and sells them for prices that go as high as 12,000 British pounds. That’s pretty expensive, but hey, it’s art, right?

What does a naked Barack Obama have in common with a white unicorn? Apparently they’re best of friends.

At least that’s how Dan Lacey, known as The Painter of Pancakes,  portrays the president of the United States in a series of funny paintings. Some of his works show celebrities like John McCain and Sarah Palin and Obama with pancakes on their heads or covering their intimate areas. If you’re one of those wanna-be rappers who wanna look like their idols, but are on a budget, then this is a great alternative. Some people feel images printed by machines have no soul, so they decided to print them themselves, by hand.

That’s right, a group of people called The Human Printer, uses markers to emulate the printing process. This way you no longer have just a soulless copy of a photo, but a new, unique image designed by human hand. You have to hand it to these guys, they have a lot of patience. Members of The Human Printer use computer-created CMYK tones and Black&White to create their works of art.

The Duggar Familly reminds me of that Steve Martin movie, “Cheaper by the Dozen”. Only this is real life, which makes it less funny and a lot weirder.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar met in 1980 and got married in 1984. It would be 4 years until their first son, Joshua, was born. After that, they decided to use birth control, but Michelle became pregnant and suffered a miscarriage. It was then that they decided to stop using birth control methods and let God decide how many children they would have. So far they have 18 children, 10 boys and 8 girls.

The Duggars are conservative Baptists who raise their children with very little television and monitored internet access. They are educated at home and use a buddy system, in which an older sibling is assigned to a younger one, taking care of him.

You have to be insane or bored out of your mind to cover an entire van with photo cameras, but Harold Blank thinks of it as art.

It all started one night in 1993, when Harold Blank had a dream where he covered his entire van with cameras. When he woke up he thought his dream was an epiphany so he went straight to the store and bought all the cheap cameras he could afford. Shortly after, the Camera Van was born.

Blank likes to drive around the cities and take photos of people. he believes when passers-by see his creation they are under the impression the cameras are all broken, so they act more loosely. That gives him a chance to take some great shots.

The front of the Camera Van is covered with all types of Polaroid cameras, the driver’s side is a mural made out of Kodak Instamatic cameras, the passenger’s side has 32-inch LCDs that look like negative frames. The back of the van has 2 LCDs of kids waving to passers-by while the word “SMILE” sits atop the car, constructed from Kodak point-and-shoot cameras.

Harold Blank’s official site could be harmful to your computer, according to Google, but you can check it out if you wish. I hear he has been driving his Camera Van through Mexico and South America and hasn’t updated his site in over 2 years.

One thing is for sure, the Chinese know how to relax.

I mean, what’s more relaxing than an old fashioned pillow fight? It makes you laugh, lets you take release the pressure without hurting anyone, it’s perfect. Looking at the photos, I can say this outdoor pillow fight, staged by the authorities of Nanning, China, was a great success. People are laughing, having a good time, like they have no care in the world.

Some people are literally throwing money on the floor…

Like the people that came up with the idea of paving the floor of the Standard Grill, in the Standard Hotel, New York, with thousands of pennies. It looks pretty cool, no doubt about it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if, one day, people got on their knees and tried to steal the coins. After all, this is an economic crisis and every penny counts.

The Chinese know how to have fun and make money at the same time.

During a contest that took place in Nanning, competing teams had to squeeze as many members as they could into a car. They had 3 minutes to get into the car and had to last 10 seconds with all the car doors shut. Not an easy task, but with all that Yoga, I’m sure they managed pretty well. We don’t know how many people fit into that car for the win, but what we do know is the winning team got a prize of 500 yuan. That’s about $73. But who are we kidding, it was never about the money.

After the photos I’ve seen so far, I can truly say there’s art in everything, even fish heads.

Anne-Catherine Becker-Echivard loves is a very original Berlin-based artist who uses fish heads to create regular works of art. It might be bizarre or funny, but it certainly isn’t easy. The artists uses negative-film cameras and photographs to create the photos you see below, and each of them can take up to three months to complete.

Wataru Itou, a talented art student from Tokyo, spent 4 years of his life building this trully incredible paper castle.

Named Umi no Ue no Oshiro (A Castle on the Ocean), this paper craft castle features electric lights and even a moving train, made of paper. It is set on exhibit at Uminohotaru, a service area between Tokyo and Chiba Prefecture and you can check it out with Google Earth.

Whether you’re a fan of paper craft or not, you must admit this paper castle is wonderful work of art. The Japanese like to take their time (see the LEGO Yamato Warship), but at least they deliver.
