When it comes to “spicy” liquor, you’ll have a tough time finding something hotter than this crazy combination of overproof rum infused with the world’s hottest pepper, the Carolina Reaper.

The World’s Hottest Shot comes in a deceptively small and harmless-looking 45ml bottle that you can just pour in a shot glass and gulp in one go. But before you do that, you should know that this is no ordinary drink. Not only is the rum overproof (over 63% alcohol by volume), but it also has also been infused with Carolina Reaper peppers for at least three months. The result is a barely stomachable concoction that is almost guaranteed to make you gag, sweat and scream in agony as you wait for the fire inside you to stop burning.

We only recently learned of the existence of the World’s Hottest Shot, thanks to popular YouTube show, Hot Dang Show. Host Roger Trier was kind enough to sample a dose of this evil drink so we could get an idea of just how hot it is, without actually touching the stuff ourselves. Judging by his facial expressions and profuse sweating, I’d wager it’s not something I’d ever consider sampling.

“This product is extremely hot and has the potential to cause skin and/or mouth irritation. ‘The World’s hottest shot’ is intended for adults only and must be kept out of reach of children and pets. Do not consume if you have heart, respiratory or digestive conditions or any other serious illness. Consume at your own risk,” the product description warns.

Produced and sold by the Wiltshire Chilli Farm in the UK, the World’s Hottest Shot costs £15 ($20) per 45ml bottle, but you could pay me 1000 times that and I wouldn’t touch it. Just seeing those peppers soaking in the alcohol makes me sick to my stomach.
