The Lee County Sheriff’s Office in Florida recently released one of the strangest, most disturbing video we’ve ever seen – it shows a young suspect trying to chew off his fingertips in a bid to avoid being identified by the police.
According to the video’s description, it all started on Friday, when a traffic cop on State Road 82 stopped a 2015 Mercedes that had been reported stolen. The man behind the wheel, later identified as 20-year-old Kenzo Roberts, tried using a fraudulent ID with a fake name. But the officer soon discovered a hidden firearm and took the man into custody.
While he was waiting at the back of the patrol vehicle, the man – unaware that his actions were being recorded – tried to destroy his fingerprints. The three-minute-30-second video shows him nervously chewing his fingertips and rubbing them against the cage, while constantly looking out for the police. Unfortunately the pain he inflicted on himself was in vain as the fingerprint scanner at the police station was still able to identify him correctly.
The scanner revealed that Kenzo had indeed stolen the Mercedes, and that there were two felony warrants for his arrest for aggravated assault. He had allegedly attacked a person with a deadly weapon in Broward County and was also in the United States illegally.
Kenzo is currently being detained at the Lee County jail, and has been charged three counts of possession of a counterfeit credit card, grand theft auto, possession of a concealed firearm, possession of a fake driver’s license, and false identification given to law enforcement.
