Coca Cola Obsessed Woman Turns Her Home into a Shrine to the Popular Drink

People are generally paid to endorse a brand or display its logo, but one Irishwoman has done the opposite – she’s actually spent several thousands of dollars converting her home into a Coca Cola shrine. Every single room in Lillian’s Glanmire home is done up in the brand’s iconic red and white colors. The Coke logo is splashed across walls and pillow cases, and vintage Coke bottles and cans add to the decor.

Lillian explained that her obsession with Coca Cola began over 30 years ago, when she was traveling from Germany to Austria. When she crossed the border between the two countries, she realized that she had been drinking from the same can in two different countries. So she decided to start collecting Coke cans from all over the world.

“I collected them for about 28 years,” she said. “When friends and family went off to different countries, they would bring me back some. They were up the loft for years and years and I thought will we the small bedroom up in Coca Cola? So, we did the small bedroom up in Coca Cola and that’s my son’s room now.”

“Then I was watching Come Dine With Me about five years ago and I thought oh I’ll do the kitchen up in Coca Cola, because one of the women in it had a Coca Cola sign in her kitchen,” she added. “I just said to Barry we’ll do the kitchen up and within six months the whole kitchen was done up in Coca Cola.”

Lillian revealed that she travels all the way to New York, to a shop called Grand Slam in Times Square, where she shops for memorabilia. She also visits a local shop in Cork in Coca Cola red. And her husband Barry made two chandeliers out of Coke bottles. “We bought a crate of Coca Cola bottles and drank the Coke and he made up the chandelier,” she explained.”

Although Coca Cola is known to be a sugary drink, Lillian said she prefers it over Pepsi because Pepsi is “sweeter”.
