Sarina Nexie has made a name for herself as a true makeup artist, by using her face as a canvas for some incredibly detailed artworks.

The community of makeup artists on Instagram is growing every day, but there are some gems on there that are truly worth the attention of millions of people. We’ve already covered makeup legends like Mimi Choi and Dain Yoon, and today we’re taking a look at another rising star carving her own path not with mind-boggling makeup illusions, but with thought-provoking and downright impressive face paintings.

“What I love about using my face as a canvas is that I can do whatever I want, and if I don’t end up liking it I can just wash it off at the end of the day,” Sarina Nexie said about her art form of choice. “Also, there are no limits to what I can do – the only limits are those which I subconsciously set for myself.”

The Norwegian artist says that she had always love drawing, but up until 2018, she had only practiced it on paper. That summer she decided to take her makeup skills to the next level by implementing drawings and that quickly evolved into a whole new style of makeup.

The young makeup artist started taking makeup classes in 2013, and did some work for MAC on Instagram, but she quickly realized that that wasn’t her way to stardom, so she started focusing on her own projects.

Since 2018, when she started practicing artistic makeup, Sarina has already put together an impressive portfolio that includes designs inspired by popular cartoon characters, clever illusions, and stunning original designs.
