World’s Most Expensive Canine Sells for Over $5.8 Million

An Indian dog breeder recently paid 500 million rupees ($5.81 million ) for a unique cross between a real wolf and a Caucasian Shephard, making it the most expensive canine in the world.

Named Cadabomb Okami, the pricy canine was reportedly bred in the US and purchased by S. Satish, a Bengaluru-based dog enthusiast and the president of the Indian Dog Breeders Association. He is renowned for his collection of over 150 dog breeds, including some of the rarest in the world. Satish told Indian reporters that he felt the 500 million rupee price tag was worth it for Cadabomb Okami because he is literally one of a kind. Plus, he is an impressive specimen; at just eight months old he already weighs 75kg and stands 30 inches tall.

“He is an extremely rare breed of dog and looks exactly like a wolf. This breed has not been sold in the world before,” S. Satish said. “I spend money on these dogs because they are rare. Besides, I get enough money because people are always curious to see them. They take selfies and pictures. My dog and I get more attention than an actor at a movie screening! We both are crowd-pullers.”

Interestingly, this is not the Indian dog breeder’s first extravagant purchase. Last year, he bought a rare Chow-Chow specimen that allegedly bears a striking resemblance to a red panda for $3.25 million.

Satish keeps his over 150 dogs on his seven-hectare estate and showcases the rarest of them at events all around India for which he gets paid between $3,000 and 12,000. He has already started using Okami to win back his investment, showcasing him at several high-profile events, including film premieres, in Karnataka. He claims people flock to see the world’s most expensive dog even more than they usually do his other dogs.
