PomPom, an adorable Pomeranian from Singapore, recently achieved celebrity status on social media thanks to the efforts of a freelance groomer who managed to turn him into a fluffy egg.
Back in January Andrea Aubrey Sim (@groomer_andrea), a freelance groomer from Singapore, posted photos and videos of one of her most ingenious projects yet, a cute Pomeranian styled to look like a giant egg. She posted the results of her labor on Instagram, but they only went viral late last month, spawning the now trending “Egg Dog” meme. In a video shot from just the right angle, Pom Pom can be seen sitting still, with his ears flat behind his head. while the groomer puts the finishing touches on her work of art – a living dog shaped like an egg.

To achieve this incredible look, Andrea gave PomPom a shower and massaged his body to puff up the fur, before using her grooming skills to trim that fur into an almost perfect egg shape. Credit goes to PomPom as well, for sitting like a good boy and even flattening his ears to become Egg Dog.

Andrea told MustShareNews that she wanted to pass on PomPom’s “happy awwra” in his haircut, but she never expected her work would get so much attention. Ever since her Instagram video went viral, people have been going crazy over this egg-shaped canine, praising his look and even creating some “eggceptional” artworks of him.
A Japanese artist went as far as to create a sculpture of PomPom, and popular figurine manufacturer Funko Pop designed an Egg Dog toy as an April Fools joke.
